Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleh Rybachuk met with U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor. They discussed the current political situation in Ukraine, according to the President’s press-office.
Mr. Rybachuk said that Head of State would only follow the Constitution when making decision on government and parliament future. He also said, that contradictions in procedures and terms demonstrate “the imperfection of constitutional reform”. It showed again that “this reform needs to be optimized”.
Than he said, the President many times emphasized that he’s ready to cooperate with parliament and government for stability and unity of Ukraine.
Secretariat Chief of Staff said, that “electing prime minister by Verkhovna Rada without Presidential consent is usurpation of state power”.
Mr. Rybachuk added, that new government will have important role – don’t let economy growing to stop. «Victor Yushchenko believes, that this aim can be reached just by team of professionals. And PM can be only official who is able not be driven by party interests and is able to take upon himself the responsibility for economic development of the country”, – he said.
Secretariat Chief of Staff said, he believes that non-effective political dialogue impedes effective economic policy. That situation could not allow providing the Ukraine modernization plan quickly. "The President emphasizes that times of undercover, sudden decisions against national interests were over. And no one would allow to turn time back”, – said Mr. Rybachuk.
In his turn, Mr. Taylor said that United States is ready to support democratic reforms further.
