People’s Party of Ukraine leader Volodymyr Lytvyn assesses the today’s developments in the Verkhovna Rada as a beginning of an open war inside the coalition.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, V.Lytvyn said to journalists that, it would be better if President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko delivered his annual address to nation today, and launched a serious conversation about the situation in Ukraine.

“But the developments taking place in the chamber of parliament, I may state, indicate a beginning of a war within the frames of the coalition. That is, a considerable part of the coalition, headed by the Prime Minister, openly announces that the war turns from cold into hot”, V.Lytvyn noted.

In his opinion, even if the Verkhovna Rada rostrum is unblocked, this will be a humiliation for the President, as it will indicate that BYuT may allow or not him to deliver a speech in parliament.

“I believe it would be better if they reached understanding as early as yesterday, for the President to deliver his address, and after that they would announce an interval and try to agree their positions”, V.Lytvyn said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, today President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko is due to deliver in the Verkhovna Rada his Annual Address to nation about the internal and foreign state of Ukraine.

However, the BYuT faction has blocked the rostrum and presidium of parliament.
