Ukraine remains top priority of the European agenda - Mogherini

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has promised to speak again with parliamentary leaders in order to explain the importance of passing legislation being demanded by the EU if Ukraine is to get visa-free travel with the 28-nation bloc during his meeting with EU foreign policy chief Frederica Mogherini in Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday, according to Ukraine Today.

Mogherini reaffirmed the EU's commitment to sanctions on Russia over its failure implement a peace deal to end fighting in east Ukraine, saying that "the situation in Ukraine remains top priority of the European agenda,” Ukraine Today reports.

Apart from fighting in the east of the country, Mogherini has said that battle with corruption must remain one of Ukraine's top priorities.
