Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claims that the Constitutional Court’s ruling on declaring unconstitutional several provisions of the law on state budget-2008 was issued on a political order of the Presidential Secretariat and the Party of Regions.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, she claimed this to a government’s session today.
“It is a colossal destructive action aimed, first of all, against Ukraine, against the Ukrainian nation, against the government, against the coalition, and it was ordered”, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
The Prime Minister is confident that the decision of the Constitutional Court was made under pressure of the Presidential Secretariat and the Party of Regions.
“I want you to know that they wage a dirty and unprecedented struggle against the government, and the Constitutional Court, which represents political forces, as of today, unfortunately, issues ordered political rulings. People, representing the President and the Party of Regions, have united in the Constitutional Court. In fact, a broad coalition worked there”, she explained.
In the opinion of Yulia Tymoshenko, the Constitutional Court’s ruling is aimed at destroying all revenues and expenses of the state budget.
The Prime Minister noted that the matter concerns abolishing a whole range of sources for replenishing the state budget and the Pension Fund.
“They canceled the provision about payments to state budget’s salary fund for paying pensions. And now, if the government and the Verkhovna Rada do not urgently make decision to nullify the ordered ruling of the Constitutional Court, pensioners may be left without pensions”, the Prime Minister claimed.
Besides, according to her, the Constitutional Court also canceled payments to other funds of compulsory social insurance.
“Grants-in-aid due to temporary disability, payments to unemployed, and reimbursements on accidents at work were left without sources of financing”, Yulia Tymoshenko added.
“The amount of losses may exceed by several times the amount calculated for the year 2008. In fact, we may loose a significant part of budget incomes”, she believes.
“They wiped out almost everything connected with social payments”, Yulia Tymoshenko concluded.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 27, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine declared unconstitutional provisions of the law “On State Budget of Ukraine for the Year 2008, and on Introducing Amendments into Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine”, and narrowed or wiped out privileged and social guarantees to country’s citizens.
