Leaving Ukraine, Biden calls on Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk, Groysman to work together
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has called on the representatives of three branches of the Ukrainian authorities to work together in order to create a truly free, united and democratic Ukraine.
"I met with Speaker Groysman of the Rada, President Poroshenko, and Prime Minister Yatsenyuk. I've come to know these men, and I believe that, working together, they can create a truly free, united, democratic Ukraine," Biden wrote on Facebook before leaving Ukraine.
According to Biden, it's not enough to set up a new anti-corruption bureau and establish a special prosecutor fighting corruption. The Office of the General Prosecutor desperately needs reform. The judiciary should be overhauled.
