The Party of Regions claims it does not support the idea of imperative mandate.

According to a party’s statement, forwarded to UNIAN, the Party of Regions stresses it is a position of principle for them.

The statement reads that the Party of Regions will keep on defending “world democratic norms, in line with which an imperative mandate is an archaic approach, unacceptable for states, respecting human rights and freedoms”.

According to the statement, the Party of Regions is not connected with the breakup of the coalition, which destroyed due to its internal conflicts, and because some coalition members “did not agree with the policy of populism, and the unprofessional and irresponsible government”.

“We treat with understanding the current situation, and are ready to take maximally active part in uniting Ukraine”, the statement authors stressed.
