Party of Regions lawmaker Hanna German calls on to stop insinuations around the daughter and son-in-law of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko. According to the Party of Regions’ press-service, she said this in a statement.

“I call on politicians to come to their senses! Let’s not loose our dignity and not forget that life goes on. Even after our political career  finishes, majority of us will stay in this country, and we should be able to look into each other’s eyes”, reads the statement of Hanna German.

“I agree: Yulia Volodymyrivna is a tough politician, and political struggle is severe for all of us. We have to stand lots of mud that is thrown at us”, the statement reads.

The MP believes that it is unhuman to struggle against a politician by means of provocations against his or her children. “Such methods will never bring success to inspirators of the scandal”, she said.

“It’s hard to suspect me of friendship with Yulia Tymoshenko, but I know Yulia Volodymyrivna since a long time. She never allowed herself to revenge upon anybody using children”, the Party of Regions MP is confident. “A long time ago, in the times of the “criminal regime”, when they tried to gain control over me by using journalist provocations against my children, Yulia Tymoshenko defended me. I will never forget it. That is why I believe it is my moral duty to tell: “Hands off children of Yulia Tymoshenko!”, the lawmaker believes.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on the night of Friday, June 20, police in Odessa briefly detained Ms. Tymoshenko`s son-in-law, Sean Carr, for resisting arrest. Several Ukrainian media promptly released reports depicting the expatriate British citizen as the belligerent in the affair, claiming that he had beaten up two police guards. In his version of events given to the media on Monday, the 39-year-old rock singer said that the two police guards had thrown his wife to the ground and started handcuffing her, after she had rebuked them for aggressively not allowing her husband take his motorcycle onto a public beach. In the un-sourced Odessa police statement, the beach was said to be off limits to all vehicles, but Carr insisted that he and his wife Yevgeniya were only trying to join a group of their biker friends who had already made it on to the beach.
