Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko promises to carry out the same policy he started 1,5 years ago, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.

“I told Viktor Fedorovych that I will stop at nothing if the member of any team – either from the opposition or coalition – is found guilty,” stated Lutsenko at the press conference.

“In fact I do not regret for I have done during these 1,5 years. General policy will remain unchanged and will stay my life credo,” he noted.

He also said Yanukovych responded that he (Yanukovych) was interested in the prosecution of corrupt officials.

“If this is true, if I do not get any commands I am just going to sit in my office and work there,” he marked.

As to the government staff, Lutsenko said:

“As an Interior Minister I do not like this staff but we will work together and co-exist,” he added.

Lutsenko also stated he was uncomfortable at the sittings of the new government.

“It is due to personal feelings. I realize that such politicians have to forget about emotions. It is rather difficult but absolutely necessary to work for the good of the country,” he said.

Lutsenko also said he had been hospitalized with hypertensic crisis when he learnt about his nomination to Yanukovych’s government.

“I was at a loss. It was hard for me to take up a decision,” he stressed.
