Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko claims she still supports the democratic coalition and stresses that the irresponsible policy of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko caused its split.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers today, commenting on the statement of Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Vassyunyk and the refusal of Our Ukraine’s Ministers to take part in sessions of government.
“This is hysterics and merely irresponsible steps. The democratic coalition must live and work. I think everybody who wants to live in Ukraine understands it. That is why we absolutely clearly continue to work, the government has a quorum, we will make decisions, and those who do not want to work, let them do what they consider necessary”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
The Prime Minister stressed that namely President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has been deliberately undertaking steps to split the democratic coalition for eight months already.
“We were not allies, when, since the moment when the democratic coalition was born, the President of the country began to destroy the coalition since the first day, for all eight months. Every day they created obstacles for the work of government, they destroyed the government, it was absolutely impossible to organize collaboration with governors, who are subordinate to the President. You know how the President was destroying the country’s budget”, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
In her opinion, the President and the Presidential Secretariat did not disdain to use any means to split the coalition.
“BYuT, People’s Self-Defense, and other serious political forces understand absolutely clearly that the democratic coalition was the format that would work for the country. And I regret that the President of Ukraine behaves irresponsibly, and that, actually, on his instruction, the coalition was destroyed yesterday. On his instruction yesterday lawmakers received telephone calls and quitted the democratic coalition. I believe all that was absolutely planned, and all these things were planned by the President”, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
