"As for videos showing the movement of a rocket launching system, the deployment is carried out there [Russia] every day or every other day … I can tell openly we do not anticipate war or attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine in the near future. Putin has realized that continuing a military occupation of Ukraine does not bring the anticipated results for him. Putin's strategy relies on bargaining with Ukraine over the return of Donbas [to Ukraine] provided that we abandon all attempts to ever regain Crimea. He [Putin] does not plan to capture anything else," Gerashchenko stated.
Earlier, Gerashchenko noted that the checkpoints on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea were operating in precarious conditions amid detentions of deserters on the peninsula who could escape to mainland Ukraine.
