Former Interior Minister of Ukraine Vassyl Tsushko has quitted the Socialist Party of Ukraine.
According to the Socialist Party of Ukraine, the party’s political council allowed his request not to reinstate him as an SPU member. As it is known, V.Tsushko, after he was appointed as the Interior Minister, suspended his membership in the party, because a law-enforcement agency’s head must be non-party in Ukraine.
V.Tsushko asked not to reinstate him due to his state of health.
At the same time, some members of the SPU political council do not rule out that V.Tsushko may enter the Party of Regions, because he seeks deputy’s immunity, to defend himself from criminal persecution.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Prosecutor’s General Office brought several criminal cases against V.Tsushko on facts of abuse of office.
