Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claims that Ukraine will suffer the biggest blow from the world financial crisis in 2009, and calls on politicians to refuse political ambitions and undertake all steps to minimize the blow.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, she said this at a meeting with Verkhovna Rada factions on Monday.

“We have to revise the state budget for the year 2008, and completely alter the draft state budget-2009, because the whole world, and Ukraine as well, will see a certain stagnation of the production, a certain fall of GDP growth, and, I think, the country will suffer the biggest blow in 2009. It means we have to transfer to a saving budget policy”, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed.

She stressed it’s necessary to curtail all unproductive expenses of the budget “for the country to firmly stand upon a deficit-free budget in 2008 and 2009”.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the world crisis will influence import volumes as well as the crediting system.

She emphasized once again her proposal to form a broad coalition and a new government.
