Victor Yushchenko has met with leaders of the Our Ukraine Bloc: Roman Bezsmertny, Anatoly Kinakh, Anatoly Matviyenko, Volodymyr Stretovych, and Borys Tarasyuk, according to the President’s press-office.
They discussed Mr. Yushchenko’s legislative initiatives to assure particularly significant clauses of the National Unity Pact and ways to reinforce cooperation among the three branches of power.
The Head of State said he was going to meet with leaders and representatives of the country’s largest political forces to discuss the implementation of the Pact and to consider mechanisms of adapting Ukrainian laws to European norms and standards.
The President reiterated his intention to cooperate with both the parliamentary majority and opposition. He is convinced all patriotic political parties should help implement the Pact, which was designed to protect national interests.
