And has already played a mean trick on her successor?

People’s Party head Volodymyr Lytvyn believes that the measures stipulated in the memorandum between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund are unpopular. Besides, according to his information, the document includes a provision, in line with which the anti-crisis measures stipulated by the memorandum, will be implemented by not the government of Yulia Tymoshenko but by a new government. Besides, it must happen in the end of the current – the beginning of the next year.

According to the People’s Party press-service, Volodymyr Lytvyn claimed this at a press conference in Uzhhorod.

“If we seriously raise the question of offering resistance to the financial crisis, we should forget about the parliamentary election. But if we nevertheless announce the election, nobody will implement the anti-crisis measures, because the whole executive power will take part in the parliamentary campaign. What is this political game for”, V.Lytvyn noted.

According to the People’s Party head, the power must carry out a fair dialog with the society without hiding the conditions on which IMF is going to give Ukraine the loan. In the opinion of V.Lytvyn, they are afraid to reveal the conditions, because the text of the document clearly indicates that IMF takes the Ukrainian economics under its supervision. “The memorandum includes positions that will stir up a widespread discontent of people. In particular, it stipulates freezing for two years the rise of the living wage to the level of the minimal wage, freezing the increase of pensions, boosting utility tariffs… Saying nothing of tough measures concerning the banking system and the like”, V.Lytvyn claimed.

At the same time, V.Lytvyn stressed that the memorandum contains a thesis that the anti-crisis measures will be implemented in the period till the end of the current year and the beginning of the next year, and by a new government. “I have a question on this issue: when the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister signed this document, they, probably, agreed with the fact of the snap poll. Or they signed it only to satisfy IMF”, the politician emphasized.
