Stepan Havrysh, top deputy security chief of Ukraine, believes that President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has a fair chance to win the presidential election despite his current low rating.
He said this in an interview with Delo daily.
According to S.Havrysh, the President’s desire to ran for the second term is a natural and expected step. “The issue of rating is more up to technologies. Today a social rating in our country, unfortunately, does not exist. Sociologists live mostly on party farms, work for party money, and fulfill party orders”, he said.
At the same time, S.Havrysh stressed, political processes in Ukraine are rather quick. “Victor Yushchenko has a fair chance to win once again the trust of electors”, the deputy security chief said.
Asked to specify how the President may win the election, S.Havrysh expressed an opinion that Victor Yushchenko has qualities that will help him: “He’s charismatic and unique by his world outlook and serving the nation. However, his liberalism, correctness, and tolerance is perceived as weakness”.
At the same time, S.Havrysh believes that, to win, the President will have to seriously upgrade his politics. “It means he will have to create a newer, more creative and, at the same time, intelligent team, able to show success. Electors love successful people”, he said.
Asked who will enter the team, S.Havrysh said: “I have a list in my pocket, but I should not show it. It is only up to the President”.
