U.S. Vice President urges Kyiv to strengthen anti-corruption institutions to root out cronyism
Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden during his Kyiv visit has urged the Ukrainian authorities to strengthen the newly-created anti-corruption agencies, in order to root out "cronyism and kleptocracy".
"You implemented ground-breaking new electronic asset declaration system to fight corruption, to ensure that officials cannot leverage their political position for personal gain," Biden said in a statement January 16, an UNIAN correspondent reported from a joint briefing with President Petro Poroshenko.
