Answering the question whether this could happen and whether the "Crimean" or "Abkhaz" scenarios will be used, Peskov said: "I can only say one thing – according to the Constitution, foreign policy of the Russian state is determined by the head of state, namely the Russian president."
As reported, on March 1, Chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Leonid Kalashnikov said that Russia would be able to recognize the so-called "LPR" and "DPR" if the conflict in Donbas continued to escalate, and if Ukraine moved to active hostilities.
