President lets OU ministers resign
The OU block joins the opposition
Victor Yushchenko has met with the ministers representing the Our Ukraine Bloc in the government, said his press secretary, Iryna Vannykova, on Wednesday, according to the President`s press-office.
The bloc announced yesterday it would quit the governing coalition and join the opposition, recalling its cabinet ministers.
As far as Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko and Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk, the President wants to make a personal but constitutional decision on their future presence in the government but says they cannot represent any opposition party. He says the governing coalition should decide what to do with the other ministers. He believes the Our Ukraine representatives should act consistently and execute the will of their party. He also thinks the consistency of actions with declarations is a sign of political maturity and responsibility.
Mr. Yushchenko pledges to cooperate with both the parliamentary majority and the opposition.
