At the same time, Ukraine needs a strong army, Poroshenko said during his visit to Ternopil.

"We will return Donbas by political and diplomatical means. But we must have a strong army," Tsegolko quoted the head of state as saying.

It was also reported that in 2017, some 297 instructors have already been qualified to train military personnel according to NATO guidelines. A total number of such military instructors since the beginning of the military reform has reached about 1,200, with 600 of them having been trained with the participation of foreign supervisors.
