He stressed that Ukraine needs a new Constitution that would clearly define authorities of power branches, provide their efficient work, and give answer to a number of country’s challenges.

“In such a way, we will find answers how to harmonize the economics, to organize social life, how to better create workplaces… We will never implement this policy until we do not form the principles of the country’s development over a new Constitution”, Victor Yushchenko said.

Asked about an eventual unification of the Party of Regions and BYuT, Victor Yushchenko stressed that the matter concerns the destiny of the Ukrainian democracy. He pointed out that if the country loses democracy, it will lose its independence. “I will immediately appoint a referendum if these agreement take place, if they rewrite the Constitution”, the President claimed.
