Victor Yushchenko signed next year’s budget on Friday after the Verkhovna Rada and Ukraine’s government agreed to his demand to improve social standards in 2007, according to the President`s press-office.

Ukrainian lawmakers adopted a resolution to raise the minimum wage for over fifteen million citizens. Thus, the government will raise the living wage to UAH 397 on April 1 and UAH 406 on October 1. The minimum wage will grow to UAH 420 on May 1, UAH 430 on August 1 and UAH 460 on December 1.
