Victor Yushchenko has sent a letter to Speaker Oleksandr Moroz with a request to adhere to Ukraine’s constitution when passing a new bill on the cabinet of ministers, according to the President`s press-office.

“… On January 19, 2007, I vetoed the Law on the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and sent my proposals to the Verkhovna Rada. The President acted in accordance with part 2 of article 94 of the Constitution of Ukraine and the July 7/1998 decision by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine,” he said.

“As Speaker of Ukraine’s parliament, you have to ensure that the Constitution and the Verkhovna Rada procedure rules are observed when the issue is considered again.”

Mr. Yushchenko also said remarks conflicting with the constitutional rules of government in Ukraine “do not help find compromises.”
