Victor Yushchenko told reporters in Tbilisi on Thursday Ukrainian politicians must adhere to the country’s laws when discussing the idea of holding early elections, according to the President`s press-office.

“Elections can help build national dialogue. However, each idea should be lawful. If it violates law, it plants the seeds of speculations, lies and perhaps even conflicts. We must avoid such things,” he said.

The President reiterated that dialogue and mutual respect could help find answers how to settle arguments.

“The rest of the things, like provocations, blackmail and psychological pressure, will yield no results,” he said, adding that such ideas distracted the nation from really important issues and problems.

Mr. Yushchenko, however, added, “I do not want to discuss the theory but I remember that you must never say ‘never’ in politics.”
