Yanukovych rules out revising constitutional reform

Attempts of certain politicians to revise the constitutional reform will be vain.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych said this in an interview to “Izvestiya v Ukrayine” daily #51 of 26 March 2007.

According to him, “there is no way back”. “Today we are living in a democratic country, where the new Constitution is effective”, he said.

Victor Yanukovych believes that the contradictions that appear in the course of implementing the reform can be regulated in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, “or, which is more constructive, by means of talks”.

He recalled that the constitutional reform’s essence is to redistribute authorities between power branches.
