BYuT front-runner Yulia Tymoshenko, paying a visit to France, is trying to clarify the position of the Ukrainian opposition to French political circles. She also strives to prevent closing Ukrainian-French projects, which were initiated when she occupied the post of the Ukrainian Prime Minister.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko said this at a meeting with Jean Francois Cope, French Minister for Budget and Administrative Reform, in Paris today.

“I’m convinced that during my meeting with representatives of the government I managed to adequately illustrate all the complexity of the current situation in Ukraine, and prove that only an extraordinary parliamentary election may return Ukraine to democracy. The second important task, as for me, is to stop curtailing large-scale projects, which were initiated during my visit to France in 2005”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.

“That time we laid basis to a perspective collaboration in the energy, transport, and other spheres, and today our French partners state that these projects have been dragged out since the beginning of 2006, and presently they even may be closed”, she stressed.
