Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych claims that the President’s decree on dissolving the parliament is aimed at usurping the power.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this in the parliament during discussing the political situation in Ukraine.
According to Victor Yanukovych, “yesterday we saw an attempt on the constitutional order”. “The notorious decree of the President is aimed at usurping the power”, Victor Yanukovych said, stressing that, actually, they bid to dissolve the legitimate and democratically elected parliament.
In the opinion of Victor Yanukovych, these steps are a part of a scenario, which may implicate other steps, in particular, creating conditions for permanent parliamentary elections in order to discredit the parliamentarism as it is, guaranteeing the mechanism of preserving certain people’s power under any outcome of elections, and revising the Constitution in order to establish an autocratic Presidential power.
