A snap parliamentary election will be called within 60 days if the parliament failed to pass a package of laws by the end of the day.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Victor Yushchenko claimed this to a press conference in Zagreb today, during a one-day visit to Croatia.

President Victor Yushchenko still hopes lawmakers will adopt all laws to resolve Ukraine’s political crisis today.

“I absolutely hope we will put an end to this conflict today,” he told a news conference in Zagreb on Thursday, adding that his party, Our Ukraine, and Yulia Tymoshenko’s bloc would otherwise hold conventions to formally relinquish their seats in parliament. “Then we will have an election in sixty days, as stated in the constitution of Ukraine.”
