Yushchenko invites election observers
From the OSCE, BSEC, GUAM, NATO, CE, and the European Parliament
President Victor Yushchenko on Thursday sent letters to the parliamentary assemblies of the OSCE, BSEC, GUAM, NATO, the Council of Europe and the European Parliament to invite election observers to monitor Ukraine’s September 20 early parliamentary elections, according to the President`s press-office.
“As head of state, I assure you that the government of Ukraine will support and provide necessary assistance to international observers in their mission,” he said.
Yushchenko said his government appreciated the importance of the snap poll in promoting democracy and the rule of law in Ukraine and was determined to ensure it is held in a fair, democratic and transparent manner.
