Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko is grateful to everyone that supports her, including the international community that expressed its outrage over her arrest, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"I want to express my gratitude to all Ukrainians that sympathize with me, who support me, who come to the Lukyanivska prison and Pechersk court, whose who threw themselves under the wheels of the van that took me from the court to the prison. I want to thank everyone who prays, because many people are praying for Ukraine, for us to have the opportunity to preserve Ukraine’s independence, praying for me and other political prisoners," Yulia Tymoshenko said inside the courtroom today.

Yulia Tymoshenko thanked members of the media that covered events surrounding the trial. "I also want to thank the Ukrainian and international journalists who did even the impossible in these few days and now the whole world and Ukraine know what is going on. I want to thank the journalists separately," she added.

Yulia Tymoshenko also thanked Ukrainians living and working abroad for their concern. "I didn’t expect such a strong international reaction. I truly believe that the reaction to my arrest from key democratic countries of the world, from the European Union and its leaders, from the United States, Russia means that people in the world are fighting for Ukraine and it’s European future and the freedom of Ukrainians, and this is very important. I also want to thank the Ukrainian diaspora, the millions of Ukrainians living outside Ukraine who care for this country, who in their hearts have a great love for Ukraine," she said.

When asked about the conditions in prison, Yulia Tymoshenko said that she was ready for such developments. "Prison is prison, what can the conditions be like? But I want to say that I’m not complaining about anything. I chose my path myself. The meaning of my life is to protect Ukraine and make Ukraine a beautiful European state. This is all a test, but I will never give up my fight for Ukraine’s European future," she added.
