The court has not made available to the defense all the volumes of the criminal case against former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
“Today I was at the Pechersk court and, unfortunately, not all the materials were given for review. The reasons vary – either the volumes haven’t been stitched or the court is working with other volumes. So, unfortunately, today we don’t have the sections that we need to review,” defense lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotnyuk said today at a press conference.
The lawyer told reporters that the defense will use the break in the proceedings to review existing materials and improve their closing arguments.
“It should be noted that the defense wasn’t ready for debates on Monday. Moreover, on Monday there weren’t any petitions from the defense to announce a break and provide us time to prepare for debates. We will use this time to review the case file and improve our closing arguments,” he said.
