Oleksandr Turchynov, first deputy head of the Batkivshchyna Party, believes the public is in favor of the initiative of the BYuT-Batkivshchyna faction to dissolve parliament and hold snap parliamentary elections, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

“Our faction will be introducing a draft resolution to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada and hold early parliamentary elections. Under current law, even though these changes to the Constitution were made illegally, the Verkhovna Rada can decide itself to disband. And I hope that our faction’s initiative will have public support,” Oleksandr Turchynov said at a press conference today.

The first deputy head of Batkivshchyna believes Ukraine doesn’t need a parliament that follows illegal orders, panders to political persecution, destroys the citizens’ social and economic futures, and is incapable of adopting anti-crisis decisions.

“Every day they are in power is too dangerous for the country. I am confident that while this initiative certain won’t be supported by the pro-presidential majority, it will be supported by the citizens of Ukraine. And I have no doubt that once the citizens of Ukraine start putting real pressure on the Verkhovna Rada, as happened several weeks ago, the MPs in the pro-presidential majority that behave so brazenly today won’t have to hide their deputy pins in their pockets out of fear of the people,” he added.
