Yulia Tymoshenko is not getting proper medical care in prison, says her lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
“As of yesterday, Yulia Tymoshenko was unable to move around the prison. She has been bedridden for 10 days. As of yesterday, she had not been given any medical care or received a qualified medical diagnosis,” Vlasenko told journalists outside the Lukyanivka prison.
The ex-premier’s defender stressed that he will continue to demand that she be given medical attention. “We will file all the necessary documents for Yulia Tymoshenko to be given a proper medical diagnosis and proper medical care. If it means I have to be in the neighboring cell, I’ll do that. If we need to write a request, we will write it,” he said.
Vlasenko added that the tax police are continuing with their investigation despite Yulia Tymoshenko’s condition. “Today the investigators from the Tax Militia of the State Tax Service of Ukraine once again conducted their investigation,” he said.
“I have in my hand an official letter from the investigation department summoning me to the prison today for 2 pm. The situation is quite paradoxical – if her lawyers or relatives want to visit, Yulia Tymoshenko is sick and can’t walk, but please, you’re always welcome for a visit with the investigators,” he added.
