Lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko says the resolution of the Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv ordering the arrest of Yulia Tymoshenko violates procedural law by not establishing the term of this preventive measure, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
"Tymoshenko has been detained forever. According to this court act, Yulia Tymoshenko has been arrested indefinitely, meaning for her entire life, until this resolution is annulled. Although the law says that the longest a preventive measure such as detention can be applied is two months. This is the latest brutal and flagrant violation of the law," Vlasenko told journalists during a press conference in Kyiv.
"There is no mention of a two-month term in the resolution. Everywhere in the Tymoshenko case there are legally exclusive norms and statements by the guarantor of the Constitution saying that he’s very sorry about this," he said.
