Yulia Tymoshenko’s lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko says the ex-premier will not be able to participate in tomorrow’s appeal hearing before the Kyiv Court of Appeals due to continuing health problems, and so the court should announce a break in the case, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
"Yulia Tymoshenko’s health does not allow her to meet with her lawyers outside the medical wing of the prison. The investigation on Friday was also held in her cell. The court passed a decision on her mandatory participation in the proceedings, but because her health does not allow her to be present, the court should announce a break in the case," said Serhiy Vlasenko.
However, the lawyer did not rule out that prison doctors are being pressured. "I don’t rule out that the doctors’ arms were twisted and they were forced to sign some other documents. I don’t rule out that the Gestapo doctors will change their mind overnight and will say that Yulia Tymoshenko can be brought to court," he said.
Serhiy Vlasenko met with Yulia Tymoshenko in the prison’s medical wing today from 12:30 to 6:15 pm. "We drafted the appeal of the external session of the Shevchenkivsky District Court. Yulia Tymoshenko’s daughter Eugenia was also present at the meeting," he said.
