Director of Global Strategies Institute Vadym Karasev does not consider the statement of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko concerning the limitation of the deputy’s benefits to be pre election populism.
He said this today in the interview to an UNIAN correspondent.
According to his words, the topic of the cancellation or limitation of the deputy’s privileges and benefits is really actual because there are a lot of privileges and benefits for deputies as well as for the Ukrainian political class.
According to the opinion of V. Karasev, this leads to disproportionately high agiotage around parliamentary election, not always sound desire to become a parliament member by all means.
In his turn, he noted that it promotes concealment of politics from citizens, turning parliament to “club of rich and privileged”, clearing the politics and power from ordinary people.
