The Kyiv Court of Appeals has begun today’s hearing in Yulia Tymoshenko’s appeal of October 11 conviction in the case involving gas deals with Russia, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

Olena Sitaylo, the presiding judge, announced: “Yulia Tymoshenko did not appear in court.”

The previous session was held on December 20, and, as has become tradition, the court denied all the requests made by the defense, including to summon the head of the prison’s medical unit to establish whether Yulia Tymoshenko’s did or did not want to appear in court, and to suspend the proceedings until the ex-premier`s health improves.
