Snowdrops are already on sale at Maydan

A sale of first snowdrops has started in Kyiv. A price of a small bunch of flowers in underpass at Maydan Nezhalezhnosti is UAH 20, “Segodnya” newspaper reports.

“Snowdrops have been brought from Crimea. Now flowers grow in forests and mountains there. But even if flowers are being cultivated in greenhouses, a sale of these flowers is forbidden – flowers are included into the list of Red Book”, ecologist Volodymyr Boreyko said.

A penalty for selling snowdrops makes up UAH 100. UAH 15 per every flower,  a bunch of flowers consists of 50 flowers. So the penalty for a bunch of flowers makes up UAH 850.
