Lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko says the authorities plan to speed up the time allowed for review of materials in the United Energy Systems of Ukraine case and conduct the trial in silence, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
“I’m convinced the Security Service of Ukraine will use the same mechanism used by the Prosecutor General’s Office when we were given 9 days to review 25 volumes of documents. I’m convinced that this case will be given to the court in the near future and we will have the next absurd trial. But right now the authorities will try to conceal this trial as much as possible,” Serhiy Vlasenko told journalists today in Kharkiv.
He believes the case will be tried by a court in Kharkiv. “The trial will be in Kharkiv. I’m convinced that in the next few weeks a new trial will begin in the Tymoshenko case. I’m convinced that prosecution will ask for 12 years in jail. I don’t know what decision the court will make regarding the length of the sentence, but all this shows that in Ukraine, unfortunately, there is no law and innocent people are put behind bars,” he said.
The case file consists of 62 volumes of documents.
