Lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko doesn’t rule out that the Ukrainian authorities will again break the law by sending the United Energy Systems of Ukraine case to court, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
“I have a strong feeling that the case will be sent to court despite the fact that some of the defense lawyers haven’t had time to study the case file, or they will give some ridiculous amount of time: five or ten days,” Serhiy Vlasenko said in a interview with Radio Svoboda.
According to the lawyer, the March 28 deadline to review the case file shouldn’t apply to the new defense lawyers who were admitted to the case several days ago. “The restriction set by the Kharkiv court applies only to Yulia Tymoshenko and defenders Serhiy Vlasenko and Andriy Kozhemyakin, but there are now two more defenders – Eugenia Tymoshenko and Oleksandr Plakhotnyuk,” he said.
Serhiy Vlasenko stressed that the court should give the defense at least a year to fully and properly review the case.
