Yulia Tymoshenko’s daughter Eugenia says her mother still refuses to eat despite pleas from her family, the European community and fellow party members to end her hunger strike, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko."My mother continues to not eat. It’s the second week and her condition has worsened. She is very weak. She is still sick but they’re not treating her according to the recommendations made by the German and Canadian doctors," said Eugenia Tymoshenko.
According to her, Yulia Tymoshenko went on a hunger strike to draw the attention of the Ukrainian and international community to the situation in Ukraine, which in the past two years went from a democratic state to essentially a “concentration camp".
In turn, lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko added that Yulia Tymoshenko has lost weight since going on a hunger strike. "Visually Yulia Tymoshenko has lost a lot of weight, she barely moves, is always lying down and drinking water," he said.
The lawyer also said that prison officials are threatening to force feed Yulia Tymoshenko. "But so far this hasn’t happened," he said.
