People’s self-Defense principally speaks for creating the democratic coalition between Our Ukraine – People’s Self Defense Bloc and BYuT, and, probably, with the Lytvyn’s Bloc.

OU-PSD Bloc leader Yuri Lutsenko claimed this to a press conference in UNIAN today.

According to him, today a constituent session of the People’s Self-Defense lawmakers was held, at which they expressed their firm position concerning creating a democratic coalition of OU-PSD and BYuT in the newly elected Verkhovna Rada of the sixth convocation.

“Only this coalition will correspond to the will of our electors”, he said, adding that “it should base on program principles of our bloc, adherence to national interests, democratic values, and the European perspective of Ukraine”.

According to Yuri Lutsenko, People’s Self-Defense group authorized him to carry out talks as a member of the OU-PSD negotiating group, headed by Viacheslav Kyrylenko, and to sign the coalition agreement between the forces, which will form the basis of the democratic majority in the new parliament.

Besides, the People’s Self-Defense proposes the Bloc of Volodymyr Lytvyn to join the coalition of democratic forces, which will provide “a steady development of the parliamentary majority and support of the activities of the newly created parliament”.

Yuri Lutsenko stressed that the democratic forces undertake not to outbid lawmakers either from CPU, or from the Party of Regions, for creating a wider format of coalition.
