“I would like to say that only the three political forces may start an efficient reconstruction of the Ukrainian parliament, provide an efficient work of this institution, and, without any doubt, develop a collaboration through dialog between the power and the opposition, I stress, the power and the opposition”, Victor Yushchenko said.

He noted that the orange coalition won the parliamentary election. “This is the configuration, which may form the parliamentary majority on the basis of 228 votes.

This is true. That is why we say that democracy won in Ukraine”, Victor Yushchenko stressed.

At the same time, according to the words of the President, one should not refuse from the fact that “political opponents received a one-third of the votes”.

Victor Yushchenko stressed that it is necessary to understand that their actions may be different, including, in the sphere of registration them as lawmakers and taking the oath.

Victor Yushchenko believes it is necessary to seat with them at the table of negotiations and to reach understanding for providing the stable work of the parliament. “Today, there are two keys for the Ukrainian parliament and the Ukrainian government to work effectively. Not one, and not or-or, but just two keys – which open the work of the Ukrainian parliament and provide a stable work of the Ukrainian power”, the President said, adding that namely because of that he was talking about the key responsibility of the three political forces for stability in the state, including, in the Ukrainian parliament.

He stressed he does not see any opportunity for normal work of the parliament without a dialog. “That is why, I would like to ask all politicians, who claim that they will not talk with anybody, to take away their statements and to start negotiations. And the negotiations have started today”, Victor Yushchenko stressed.

He repeated his thesis that it is necessary to provide a normal existence of the power and the opposition, even, maybe, to yield some posts in the government and the parliament for the opposition. He is confident that talks will prove the expediency of these steps.

Asked by French press whether a representative of the Party of Regions may again head the government, Victor Yushchenko stressed that “talks will show everything”.
