Chairman of the board of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine Oleksandr Chernenko believes that the coming parliamentary elections will be rather fair.
According to an own UNIAN correspondent in Brussels, he said this delivering a speech at conference organized by the European Political Center and Fund “Ukrainian policy”.
“We will see how the voting will take place, how the count at elections will take place, but it seems to me that Ukraine will pass this examination. Not for “excellent” grade, but the result will reflect will of citizens”, - he said.
O. Chernenko said that the biggest problem of current elections is graft of voters, which is carried out both in an indirect way – with help of gifts, giving food sets act and in direct way – proposition to pay for necessary voting.
“We call upon power to react to this”, said O. Chernenko. He added that there are already some court decisions, when the candidates received warnings.
At the same time, the chairman of the Committee of Voters noted that the Ukrainian legislation does not stipulate any other sanctions except a warning, for violation of law at elections.
