Former Prime Minister refuses to end her hunger strike because she sees this as the only way to draw the attention of the international community to the falsification of the results of the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"I doubt that someone, some official person, can convince her to stop her hunger strike," said lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotnyuk. "Yulia Tymoshenko gave a clear answer to her associates that she will not eat until there is a proper reaction from society and the civilized world to the rigged elections."

He said that Yulia Tymoshenko’s physical condition has worsened. "Yesterday, at least, on the 8th day, she was shaking. It’s not good. The hunger is taking its toll. But she’s staying strong and unwavering. She will continue her hunger strike until something is decided, until there is a decision recognizing the elections as having taken place with gross violations and fraud," he added.

"Yulia Tymoshenko asked that I convey her gratitude to everyone who continues to fight for democracy, for a better life. She’s confident that Yanukovych’s regime will soon come to an end because they are losing supporters every minute. The elections confirmed that people understand that this government is against the people. Yulia Tymoshenko thanked those people that are defending their choice and their future outside the Central Election Commission and demonstrating that the authorities can no longer intimidate anyone," he stressed.
