Ambassador of the USA to Ukraine John Tefft and Head of EU Delegation Jan Tombinski are about to report on results of their meeting with ex Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko, who stays in penal colony, to their governments.
They said this in an interview to journalists after more than three-hour meeting with Y. Lutsenko in the penal colony.
“I will report to my government that we had a fruitful, useful talk with Y. Lutsenko and we discussed all key issues during the meeting. I said repeatedly that our government expressed concern about imprisonment of Yu. Tymoshenko and Y. Lutsenko. I insist on their early release”, said J. Tefft.
In his turn, Jan Tombinski expressed hope that Ukraine will fulfill the decision of the European Court of Human Rights concerning Y. Lutsenko.
