Visiting this year’s AVIASVIT-XXI air show in Hostomel, Victor Yushchenko told journalists he would soon meet with representatives of BYuT, Our Ukraine and the Socialists Party to bridge differences in a coalition deal, according to the President’s press-office.
The President said: “Considering the March 26 poll results, the party that won the greatest support among the people should be the first to choose.” He added that he was not telling “anyone which posts to choose” but was trying to explain the principle.
The second key part of this principle is his constitutional right to appoint some officials.
“Powers stipulated by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine as my prerogative should not be discussed during coalition negotiations,” he reiterated.
