Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense Bloc member Ivan Plushch did not sign the coalition agreement with the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc because he has not decided whether he will work as a national deputy.

He stated this in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

“I am a civil servant and the law gives me 20 days to decide where to work. Therefore, I have time by November 16,” said Mr. Plushch.

“Civil servants who work for a patron presidential service or similar ones cannot make independent decisions. I have held too little talks with the President to make a decision right now.”

Mr. Plushch explained that he does not want to be guided by any political force or leaders.

“As a man working within the legal system I try to observe laws. I did not side those lawmakers who began speaking about the coalition the next day after the elections.”

“By the way three days ago I spoke with Yulia Tymoshenko and she said that she does not blame me,” added Mr. Plushch.
