Ombudsman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Valeria Lutkovska stated that she is not about to file a request to President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych concerning a pardon of the convict ex Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko.

The Ombudsman said this to “Kommersant Ukraine” edition ((№60 (1763) from April 9, 2013).

“Speaking about the case of Yuri Lutsenko we waited for the moment when all national methods of defense had been exhausted and only after that the Ombudsman had made a decision to address the President of Ukraine on pardon”, - explained V. Lutkovska.

“The situation with Yu. Tymoshenko is rather different: there are two cases, which are considered in the courts, and not all national methods of defense have been exhausted as of now, and it is rather preliminary to speak about a pardon”, - said the Ombudsman.
