The Our Ukraine block proposed to the Block of Yulia Tymoshenko, the Socialist party of Ukraine, to enter a broad coalition with the Party of Regions, and BYT categorically refused.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, BYT leader Yulia Tymoshenko disclosed this to journalists today after talks of the three – BYT, SPU, and Our Ukraine.
She said that the today’s meeting was held on the initiative of Our Ukraine representative Roman Bessmertny, and, in the beginning of the meeting, he proposed to enter a broad coalition, because, as he argued, there are no conceptual, ideological, and any other differences between these fur political forces.
“We are categorically against this. We considered and consider the Party of Regions a clan, which Ukraine inherited from Kuchma. This is not a party, in our view, in our opinion, and namely because of it we have officially announced to Yekhanurov and Bessmertny that our political force will under no condition join the coalition with the Party of Regions”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
She noted that in this case BYT is ready to work in the opposition. She stressed that the main for BYT is a democratic and just Ukraine.
Yulia Tymoshenko disclosed that during the meeting Yuri Yekhanurov confirmed that he is an adherent of creating a coalition between the Our Ukraine and the Party of Regions, and that he will defend this position.
