President Victor Yushchenko expressed his gratitude to the government headed by Viktor Yanukovych for efforts aimed at developing national economy and rising social standards of living for Ukrainian citizens, according to the President`s press-office. To V. Yushchenko’s opinion V. Yanukovych’s government may be credited for some decisions which preserved economic stability in the state and set grounds for positive dynamics in many key economic branches. “One may argue on achievements or failures of government team of V. Yanukovych; its activity is yet to be carefully analyzed. We can not however deny that this government has been caring for social field”, - President said.
President also drew attention to the fact that when pre-term reframed from political situation exacerbation despite had been formed by parliamentary majority of that time.
V. Yanukovych one of the few politicians who realized importance of Verkhovna Rada re-election as a means for power refreshment in the state.
V. Yushchenko expressed hope that V. Yanukovych and political power headed by him shall act patriotically and responsibly and become active participants of parliamentary processes when they are in opposition. “I believe that Party of Regions and V. Yanukovych personally shall work actively and constructively in Verkhovna Rada using their vigor and experience to reach main goals”, - President said.
